Neighborhood Civic Meetings
Councilman Rodney C. Streeter was on hand last Thursday, April 8th for the Peppermill Village Civic Association Meeting. The event, like most meetings these days, took place on Zoom and was well attended.
The Council Member provided updates on development in District 7, the status of the Addison Road Metro construction, development in neighboring areas, and recent legislation. The issue of Convenience Stores selling tobacco products was also discussed during this meeting.
This is an important update regarding the Verizon Ellipsis Jetpack mobile hotspot devices in use for distance learning in Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS).
Verizon has issued a nationwide recall of 2.5 million hotspots, including almost all PGCPS hotspots, after it was made aware that the lithium-ion battery in the hotspots can overheat, posing a possible fire and burning hazard.
PGCPS will be working with Verizon as quickly and efficiently as possible to return all Ellipsis Jetpack mobile hotspot devices that were issued by PGCPS. We will send additional communication about the process for families to return their hotspots and receive a new one.
In addition, if you have an Ellipsis Jetpack device please follow the important safety instructions below:
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this nationwide recall by Verizon. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
