Professional & Personal Life
Renita Cason is a 51-year-old native of Norfolk, Virginia. She received her formal education in the Norfolk public school system. She is a graduate of Norfolk State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. Upon graduation, she gained employment as a Computer Scientist/System Engineer with the Department of Navy and has established a twenty-six year career to date. Needless to say her dedication and commitment speaks for itself.
Renita is a twenty-two year resident of the Town of Capitol Heights. She has been a concerned and active resident of the Town of Capitol Heights since 1991. She has served the London Woods Homeowners Association (HOA) over twenty years as a Member at Large, Recording Secretary, Vice President and currently serving as the HOAs President. Renita has also served as Mayor Pro Tem and chaired the Personnel Committee during her 2006-2010 tenure. She currently chairs the Neighborhood Services Committee along with serving on the Public Safety, Personnel and Code and Charter Committee for the Town of Capitol Heights. Renita’s public service extends outside of her community as well. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and Blacks in Government (BIG). Renita is an advisor for her local chapter of BIG and a mentor and advocate for minority engineers in the workforce.
Ethics and Legislative Affairs Committee (ELC)
The Ethics and Legislative Affairs Committee will strive to develop recommendations to address issues and concerns in order to enhance the quality of life for Town of Capitol Heights citizens of both present and future generations. The committee will also serve as a training ground for citizens who aspire to further serve.
