Mr. Victor L. James, Sr., is a native Washingtonian, who moved to the very fine Incorporated Town of Capitol Heights, Maryland in 2002. He has resided in the town for more than twenty years where he raised three Positive, God-fearing, honorable young men. Mr. James has a (B. Arch.) Degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of the District of Columbia. He is also a graduate of the University of Maryland’s “Academy for Excellence in Local Governance”. With his education and background, he plans to use this experience to better serve his community of Capitol Heights.
As a previous Councilmember of the Town of Capitol Heights, Mr. James served as Mayor Pro Tempore, Chaired the Youth Committee, served on the Planning and Review team, and was also the Vice-President of the Capitol Heights Boys and Girls Club, Co-sponsored the Capitol Heights Boys scouts of America Pack #7777.
He also Co-Chaired Capitol Heights Day, and “Hoops Classics”. One of Mr. James' goals is to increase the town’s citizens' involvement in the Community. To that end he has donated three (3) Birdhouse Libraries (book share) boxes, throughout the Town, to encourage residents to share books and borrow books from the Birdhouse Libraries. He is supportive of the Town’s property standards efforts, and beautification in the Town, and will promote the Economic Development of the Town.
